Iceland: The Fire and Ice Trek

Iceland: The Fire and Ice Trek This trip is designed for people who want to pack the most and the best into a one-week visit to Iceland. The trail takes you from the famous Landmannalaugar valley with it's awesome orange coloured, lunar landscapes in the southern highlands, to the pretty green streams and small silver birch trees surrounding Thorsmork just north of the mighty Ejyafjallajokull glacier. On the route you cross the third largest geothermal zone in the world, past ancient rhyolite mountains, black deserts, great canyons and green valleys. The locals call the route Laugavegurinn meaning "The Hot Spring Route", aptly named as you pass many of these wonderful pools along the way. You also have two nights in the bustling and bright town of Reykjavik, and we recommend you extend your holiday by a day to visit Geysir, Gullfoss and Thingvellir and stop off at the Blue Lagoon on your way to the airport to complete an unforgettable holiday in Iceland.
