Champagne at the ready, it’s time to celebrate! The STC is proud to announce that we are part of Tourism Concern’s Ethical Group of Tour Operators and Travelife Partners in Sustainability. That means we don’t just talk the talk, we also walk the walk when it comes to responsible travel – and now we’ve got the pieces of (recycled and FSC approved) paper to prove it.
We have spent a lot of time debating and crafting the practices which form our Responsible Tourism Policy and deep down a commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism is at the heart of our company. We do this because we believe that travel and tourism has potential to be of huge benefit to all of those involved and in the world of educational travel, we act as role models to the next generation of adventurers, back packers, travellers and holiday makers. Both points which we take very seriously indeed.
That’s not the end of it, though, we will of course continue to shout about the importance of responsible travel and build incredible educational journeys which benefit local communities, economies and environments as well as those travelling. We will continue to reassess and develop our policies and practices in order to keep improving in this area, the world’s a changing place and it keeps us on our toes! Moreover, we will shortly be starting work on the next stage of our Travelife journey to become a certified tour operator within their scheme.
But for now, we can bask in the happy, warm glow of knowing that we are doing travel right – and you can be happy knowing that if you travel with us, you are too.
