Month long expeditions to South East Asia are rarely affordable, this is the exception! This expedition is an in-depth exploration of the best of Vietnam: from the rich culture and history, to the trekking and remote ethnic villages. The journey begins in bustling Saigon followed by cooking lessons. We visit the legendary Cu Chi tunnels to learn more about the Vietnamese war and travel overland to the Mekong delta and its iconic floating markets. At Dalat we discover the traditional home of Vietnam’s artisans before spending time swimming and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters of Nha Trang. We stop by atmospheric Hue on our way to Hai An’s colourful markets and the famous My Son Sanctuary.
From here, we head into rural Vietnam to Thanh Son Elementary School. We will take part in meaningful, well researched project work. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about rural life. After bidding a fond farewell to our host community we head on a trek deep into the highlands, pausing at ethnic minority villages and passing through jungle and verdant rice fields. Transferring to Halong Bay we explore tranquil islands and emerald waters aboard a traditional junk sailing boat. Finally; we transfer to Hanoi where we will spend our last couple of days relaxing and exploring the many markets of this bustling city.
